Calah’s Story
As a single mother, I want others to know my story of challenges and triumphs. I have had two miscarriages and one abortion, which left me emotionally scarred. In 2023, I found out I was pregnant. The news was devastating as I had undergone an abortion just five months prior, and the emotional trauma of the procedure haunted me.
Struggling with the decision to keep the baby, given my past experiences, a friend recommended A Choice to Make Pregnancy Resource Center. Meeting with the staff at the center provided me with much-needed support and guidance. Being a part of the center has completely changed my life path in a way that I never could have imagined. With the support I received, I decided to parent. On November 3, 2023, my beautiful daughter, Aniah, was born.
I will always cherish A Choice to Make Pregnancy Center for the way it has touched my life. The obstacles I have faced and the relationships I have formed will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Sydney’s Story
At twenty years old, my world came to a stop as I knew it when my pregnancy test came back positive. The man I was with told me the only option was abortion and that I could never tell anyone, not even my family, about what was happening.
Seeking guidance, I turned to a coworker who told me about a faith-based pregnancy resource center. Despite the pressure from the birth father, I chose life. But what I did not know was how much my world was truly about to change. The center, called A Choice to Make, guided me throughout the rest of my journey into motherhood.
Despite all the odds and others’ opinions, my almost two-year-old son, KC, and I are thriving in Charleston, SC. The love I have is unlike any other. Life didn’t end when I became a mother; it had only just begun.

I came to A Choice to Make, looking for a way out of my situation; however, with the prayers and love from the staff and volunteers, I am now embracing motherhood.
Coming to A Choice to Make has been a life-changing experience. I love the staff here because they are like my second family! I appreciate how they take the time to get to know me. I have learned so much about being a mom that I would not have learned otherwise. They say, “It takes a village.” The ladies at A Choice to Make are part of my son’s and my village. And for that, I am truly grateful. Even as a single mother, I am truly confident and ready to be the BEST MOTHER for my son.
